As Coach said, "I think I've found a pitcher!"

Spring Swing #2

BombSquad entered the Triple Crown Spring Swing #2 this past weekend. First game on Saturday was against the Double Angels Navy, another 14AAA team. The boys had a productive game and came out with a 7-2 victory. With a 15 minute break, the boys hit the field for game 2 against the Highlands Ranch Cobras. Game was slow moving, lots of errors and the boys couldn't pull out a win. Final score was 5-2 with the boys going in to Sunday at 1-1. Sunday morning Mother Nature refused to cooperate and the tournament was cancelled due to rain and snow.

Dakota Ridge Diamond Classic

BombSquad hit the field for a one day tournament on Saturday, April 7. 8 teams were registered at the 14 year old AA level. BombSquad started the morning against the Pueblo Terminators and came out with a 5-3 victory. Next game of pool play was against the Parker Bandits. The boys made this a quick game with a mercy rule win 16-1. The 5:30 game was the semi-finals against the Littleton Throwbacks. BombSquad pulled out another win with a 10-2 victory. Nightime was rolling in along with the chill and wind, leading us in to the championship round. Gametime was to be 7:30....we waited and waited and finally began play at 9:09pm. Needless to say we had sleeping siblings, yawning players and field lights that were expected to time out at 11pm. The Pueblo Terminators had the lead most of the game, however BombSquad pulled out a one run topper to end the game 5-4. Game ended one inning early due to city ordinances with the lights. No photos of the boys getting the medals....I was snuggled up in too many blankets and one of the parents with a sleeping sibling on my lap!
